Northeast Education Conclave 2026 Concludes In Nagaland With Key NEP 2020 Resolutions - Northeast Today

Kohima, September 19: The two-day Northeast Education Conclave 2026 concluded at Naga United Village in Chümoukedima, Nagaland, with policymakers, educators and administrators from across the Northeast deliberating on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the region.

Organised by the Government of Nagaland in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the conclave was held on the theme “Implementation of NEP 2020: Vision, Challenges & Opportunities for the North Eastern States.”

The discussions focused on the challenges faced by Northeastern states in implementing the education policy and identifying region-specific opportunities to strengthen the education system.

The conclave proposed several key outcomes and resolutions, including infrastructure development through the establishment of Skill Hubs in parent institutions, greater opportunities for vertical mobility and academic progression, and promotion of the North-East Knowledge System and Indigenous Knowledge institutions.

Other proposals included the establishment of State Public Universities, annual education review meetings and regional conclaves, and a special financial package to support the implementation of NEP 2020 across the Northeast.

The conclave provided a common platform for the participating states to exchange experiences and discuss coordinated approaches to addressing educational challenges while aligning regional priorities with the objectives of NEP 2020.
