NEET PG counselling 2026 date: Check step-by-step process, documents required for registration and other details

NEET PG result 2026:

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the NEET PG 2026 result today, September 24. Candidates who have qualified the exam will now take part in the postgraduate medical counselling process for admission to MD, MS, Doctor of National Board (DNB) and other postgraduate medical courses for the 2026-27 academic session.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the online NEET PG seat allotment process for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) postgraduate medical seats. The counselling will also cover 100% seats of deemed universities, 100% seats of specified central universities and institutions, along with certain other categories of seats covered under the MCC counselling process.

NEET PG counselling 2026: State counselling

State counselling authorities will conduct counselling for seats under their respective state quotas.

Candidates who want to participate in NEET PG counselling will have to register through the official MCC counselling portal. The registration dates, fee and other application details will be announced in the official MCC notification.

Documents required for NEET PG counselling 2026

Candidates should keep their admission and identity documents ready before starting the counselling registration and reporting process. Candidates will need to produce original documents for verification.

The documents may include:

- NEET PG 2026 scorecard or rank details

- NEET PG 2026 admit card

- MBBS degree or provisional degree certificate

- MBBS marksheets

- Internship completion certificate

- Permanent or provisional medical registration certificate

- Valid government-issued photo ID

- Date of birth proof

- Recent passport-size photographs

- Category certificate, wherever applicable

- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) certificate, wherever applicable

- Non-Resident Indian (NRI)-related documents, wherever applicable

- Other documents specified by the MCC or allotted institution

Candidates belonging to reserved categories, PwBD candidates and NRI candidates should make sure that their certificates and supporting documents are valid and available before counselling.

NEET PG counselling 2026: Choice filling

During choice filling, candidates will be able to select their preferred medical colleges and postgraduate courses. They will also have to arrange their choices according to their preference.

After completing the choice filling process, candidates must lock their choices within the given deadline. The MCC will then process the choices before releasing the seat allotment result.

Candidates are advised to check the official notification for the counselling schedule, registration dates, fee, choice filling deadlines and other important instructions, once out.
