IIM Bangalore announces Rs 5 lakh national case competition for college students

IIM Bangalore has opened its National Student Case Competition 2026 for college teams across India. The contest aims to draw interdisciplinary solutions to challenges in India's digital public infrastructure.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) has invited college students from across India to participate in its National Student Case Competition 2026, with a total prize pool of Rs 5 lakh.

The competition has been announced by the Center for Digital Public Goods (CDPG) at IIM Bangalore, with support from Perfios – Anumati Account Aggregator. It will focus on real-world challenges related to India's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

The competition is open to bachelor's and master's students enrolled in any recognised college or university in India, irrespective of their academic discipline. IIM Bangalore has encouraged interdisciplinary participation, including students from engineering, management, public policy, law, economics, design and social sciences.

ELIGIBILITY AND TEAM SIZE

Each team must consist of five students. Participants can be enrolled in either full-time or part-time programmes.

The institute has encouraged teams to be gender-balanced and, where possible, include students from different academic years and programmes. Each student can participate in only one team.

There is no restriction on the number of submissions that can be made by students from a particular college or university.

IIM BANGALORE COMPETITION 2026: IMPORTANT DATES

Registrations and submissions for the competition opened on August 14. The last date to submit entries is September 7, 2026, at 6 pm IST.

The shortlisted teams will be announced by September 15. The national finals will be held on September 30 at the IIM Bangalore campus.

The competition will give students an opportunity to develop solutions to digital public infrastructure challenges and present their ideas before practitioners, policymakers and academics.

IIM Bangalore said participants will also have an opportunity to interact with experts taking part in the CDPG Annual Conclave. Participants can receive certificates of participation and merit, apart from competing for prizes and national recognition.

The competition is part of CDPG's efforts to engage students with issues surrounding India's evolving digital public infrastructure and encourage solutions that bring together perspectives from multiple disciplines.
